UTBC Marathon and 50 Mile Ultra

We are excited  to bring back for 2024, our Bishop's Castle Trail Marathon and 50 Mile Trail Ultra.

Not only will we have a beautiful, scenic trail marathon on offer, but we will also have an additional 24 mile loop, for those Ultra lovers, looking to complete a 50 mile route.

The marathon will take you along the stunning Shropshire hills, following sections of  the Shropshire Way, through to the Nipstone and Stiperstones National Nature Reserves, up onto The Long Mynd, where there is nothing but endless views of the surrounding areas.

Our 50 mile route will be formed of two separate loops consisting of the first 26.2 miles of the marathon, followed by a circular 24 miles through the stunning Clun Valley, which will also see you follow various sections of the Shropshire Way  and  the historical Offas Dyke Path.

Our event will be well marked and marshalled, with 3 aid stations for our marathon event, and 6 in total for the Ultra, along with a bag drop option. There will be plenty of friendly faces along the way to cheer you on, and as per all of our events, there will be no cut off time, and no pressure. So, if you enter and are prepared to keep pushing forward to the end, we will be there with a smile and your finishers medal.

Our mission is one of inclusiveness, with the aim of encouraging people to try their first ever long distance running event, whilst giving experienced runners a great day out on a fantastic course, with a friendly and happy vibe.

Both events will start and finish at the gorgeous Foxholes Campsite, where there will be on site parking and toilet facilities. Camping is also available at £10 per person, per night; please contact the campsite directly to book.
