A backyard ultra is typically defined as a form of ultra marathon, where competitors must consecutively run 4.167 mile laps, under the hour, every hour until there is one last person standing.

Our Runningmonk Non Stop Ultra event will be our own take on things....

Firstly, there will be no cut off, as we feel it is important that our event is accessible to everyone.

Secondly,  you can choose upon registering, the duration of your run, which will either  be over a 12 hour or 24 hour period.

And thirdly, rather than running under the hour, every hour, the aim is to run as many laps as you can within the time frame you have selected. For example, if you wanted to run two back to back loops, sit back and relax for an hour, before setting off again, you absolutely can! Or, if you wanted to run continual, non stop laps, then that's cool too. It's your run.

All you will need to do is check in and out with our marshals, so we can keep an eye on who is out on the course, and a tally of your laps.

Well in addition to this, there will be music to keep you pumped, fire pits to keep you warm, shelter when you're in need of some respite, food and drink stations to keep you fuelled, plus plenty of friendly faces cheering you on, whilst you run around the beautiful Shropshire countryside.

This will by no means be easy, our 4 mile, 400ft loop will be a true test of your mental and physical strength, but by having the freedom to be able to run in your own time, at your own pace, within your own time frame, we hope that you enjoy the whole experience, in what will be an unforgettable event.
